What we collect
For adult account holders we may process name, email address, authentication data, subscription and billing identifiers, support requests and product activity. For pupils we keep the minimum data needed for a private Studio, such as display name, optional birth year, teacher assignments, practice records, notes, reported difficulty and optional short practice clips. A child does not need a public profile or personal email address to use a teacher-issued Studio access code.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide the lesson-to-lesson service, secure accounts, deliver teacher assignments and resources, show Lesson Ready context, operate subscriptions, prevent abuse, support users and improve reliability. The applicable lawful basis depends on the relationship in which the service is used, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, legal obligations and consent where the law requires it.
Children and safeguarding
A simpler privacy explanation for pupils is also available. Pitch & Progress is designed for teacher-led use with school-age pupils. Teachers, schools and guardians remain responsible for ensuring they have the permissions and safeguarding arrangements required for their context. Pupil spaces are private, there is no public social feed, and teacher access is limited to Studios in which they participate.
Video and resource retention
Pupil practice clips are temporary evidence and are automatically scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Reusable teacher videos use a separate private library and remain for 12 months from the last time the teacher shares them, unless they are deleted sooner. A user may download a permitted copy before expiry; copies downloaded outside Pitch & Progress are then controlled by the person or organisation that retained them.
Billing
Paid subscriptions are handled through Stripe. Pitch & Progress stores Stripe customer/subscription identifiers and subscription status so the correct product access can be provided. Payment card details are entered with Stripe and are not stored in the Pitch & Progress application database.
Who can see data
Studio information is restricted by role and row-level security to the relevant teacher, pupil account and authorised guardian where applicable. Reusable teacher resources are private unless the teacher shares them with selected pupils. We may also use service providers that host, secure, deliver or support the product, subject to appropriate contractual and security controls.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for those transfers. The exact production subprocessor list should be kept current alongside this notice.
Your choices and rights
Adult account holders can export structured account data from Account & Privacy and can request permanent account deletion there. Depending on applicable law, people may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to the relevant data protection authority. Contact privacy@pitchandprogress.com for a rights request that cannot be completed in-product.
Security
Pitch & Progress uses private storage buckets, signed media URLs, role-based access, row-level database policies, short-lived upload reservations, rate limiting and server-side audit/error events. No internet service can promise absolute security, so suspected incidents should be reported promptly to support@pitchandprogress.com.
Cookies and local storage
Essential authentication and security storage is used to keep users signed in and protect sessions. Non-essential tracking should not be enabled without the appropriate notice and consent controls for the jurisdiction in which it is used.
Changes to this notice
If the service or its processing materially changes, this notice should be updated and the effective date revised. Material changes should be surfaced to affected account holders rather than hidden in a silent policy update.
